Underground Utility Detection & Mapping Services
Scope of Work
SITE STUDIES
Background research of the project area start with Liaison Work with all main Utility Operator such as TNB, Telekom, IWK, PUAS, Maxis, etc, to Identify Existing Utilities present at the designated area. This will help us to assure the Identity of Those Services, e.g. type of cable, type of pipe, number of manholes, etc.
LOCATING AND MARKING AT SITE
The Site Supervisor will Identify Manholes, Exposed Duct, valves, trenches, and cables from electricity pole to assist the Technician before doing detection using RF, Radio Frequency Locator. This will help to induce better signals from the Transmitter to the service. Manholes and Valve might need to be opened, in order to Identify Ttype, number, and size of the Services. The Technician will Locate and Pinpoint every 0.3 - 5m interval, along the line / signal received by using the Detection Receiver. Point will be marked with its Direction, Depth and Utility Identities.
Ground Penetrating Radar, GPR will be used to re-locate the respective area which was already scanned using RF Locator to assure accuracy of locating and marking. GPR also help to Locate Non-Metallic Services, e.g. AC Water Pipe, PVC Ducts, etc. The underground utilities will be located within the Right of Way of route (5-10 meter corridor) and will be Marked with Spray-Paint every 0.3m - 5m on ground, together with depth of those underground utilities. Every each services will be mark according to its own identity, e.g., Power Cables (P), Water Pipes (W), Telecommunication Cables (T), Fiber Optic Cables (F), Sewer Pipes (S), Gas Pipes (G), etc.
DETAIL LAND SURVEY
Our Surveyor will prepare a Complete Detail Land Survey with corridor approximate 20m wide along the proposed route unless this scope is provided by the license surveyor engaged by the client.
MAPPING - UTILITY DATA LOGGING
The detection will locate and Mark All Services Every 300m to 500m area before every point with its Profile are Picked-up by Surveyor using traditional Survey Equipment. Subsequently, Surveyor will liaise with our Technician during the Utilities Data Logging process to Clarify the Identity of each of its marking. Survey Control provided with its X, Y, Z values are used to Overlay the Located Features.
DATA PROCESSING (CAD)
CAD Draftsman will process the Logged Data where Editing and QC will be done in this process by using AutoCAD of the latest version software. Logged data in term of its Location (X, Y co-ordinates), type, size, material and depth in Reduce Levels (or Meter) and orientation.
DRAWING
Production of three (3) hard copies and one (1) soft copy saved in CD-ROM, of Color-Coded Utility Drawings for submission to Client.
